This may sound odd but honestly i think it will be nuclear power. If we can crack nuclear fusion (my brother works on this) we can get enormous amounts of energy from sea water with no dangerous waste products

      Hi,
I think will use a range of different green energy sources, probably including nuclear energy. It’s important to use lots of different sources so that if its not sunny or not windy ect, we can still generate the power that we need. There also have to be new innovations in energy storage so we can get power when we need it, after all we can’t decide when its going to be windy or sunny!

      Hi Allab2012

Depends on where you are and what you want to do.

Andy’s probably right about nuclear for providing most of our electrical energy, but I think we need to still keep an eye on liquid fuels. Battery packs are heavy and expensive and don’t last too long compared to the life of, say, a car.

I think we’ll be working with alcohols (not like the kind you drink) from food and plant waste for a lot of our transport.

I think we’ll have a lot more photovoltaics (solar cells) for more local generation.

And I think that green techologies will make a lot of our manufacturing more sustainable and energy efficient. The have a saying: the best energy is the energy you don’t have to generate.

      Hi!

I think that all the green technologies have a really good potential for the future. The main problem at the moment with green technologies commonly used is that the energy created can’t be stored and has to be consumed as soon as it’s produced. Every green technology will be used according to the climate and environment of the geographical area: sunny places? solar panels; geothermic activity? geothermal power plants.
In UK they should definitely install many more wind turbines, because I’ve never experienced so many windy days like since I’ve been living in London.

      Jess.

I hope it’s wind power. I think its a great source and we already have loads of wind farms. I think more people should have solar panels on their houses too and be more self-sufficient!
