Thanks for your question. We already do cure a lot of cancers. I think that the research being done at the moment to prevent cancer and to cure others is really great. As technology is evolving, we really are beginning to understand so much more about the processes of disease, which will give us even more power to prevent and cure them .
Longer answer: there’s a lot of different kinds of cancer. My prediction is that we’re going to be able to cure more kinds in the future by targeted, personalised therapies and gene editing.
Hi Ben,
Yes, I think that we will but to cure all different types of cancer will take a long time. We have already made great progress in treatments. Having said that the more that we learn about caner the more different types and variations there seem to be, this will make it harder to cure.
It is possible to cure cancer and luckily a lot of people get to survive cancer nowadays thanks to chemotherapy.
If you were wondering if it would be possible to prevent cancer, that’s more tricky. Cancer comes from mutations in cells that become “bad”, there are many factors that can cause that, and it’s really difficult to understand how they work ans how to stop this process.
I don’t think it will ever be completely cured as different cancers emerge all the time. We have already made great process in treating cancers but I think they will always exist.
