Question: hello what causes you to be sick?

Thanks for the question. Now, this is quite complicated!! It also depends if you mean barf sick or ill sick!? There are loads of viruses and bacteria that can give you an infection. Viruses cause colds and they make you sick. Most of the effects you feel there like a stuffy nose and feeling gross is actually the body fighting the virus and not the virus itself. You can get bacteria or viruses that infect the stomach, these can produce toxins or destroy the cells in the gut. This irritates the gut and sends signals to the brain which makes your stomach contract and force food back up making you vomit. This can also be caused if you are poisoned. If you mean sick like cancer, that is caused by so many different things. That can be a virus or something else that triggers your cells to keep growing and never die, spreading around the body.
