      Hi Aimee X!

Probably since birth. I love exploring and experimenting.

I’ve been doing scientific research for about 20 years now. Man, that makes me feel old.

      Chris

      Hi!

I think being a scientist is about how you look at the world. If your asking questions, and exploring the world around you, then you’re a scientist!

I’ve been working in a research lab for about 4 years.

I made chlorine gas by accentually pouring acid drain cleaner in the toilet at home that had bleach in it when I was about 7 or 8. I count that as my first chemistry experiment.

Agree with the others that science is about having an enquiring mind and asking questions about the world around you.

Academically, I decided to do science at GCSE which was *ahem* not that long ago! Eek, that was actually 20 years ago! Wow, I’m old…. I finished my degree in 2001 and have been a researcher ever since.

      Hi Aimeex,

I like to think that I’ve been a scientist since science was officially involved in my education because I decided it.

In Italy, when we turn 14, high school starts and students have to pick a career path: some go to a Literary high school, some to an Art high school some pick professional schools to become accountants or electricians or similar jobs.
I choose a Scientific high school and I spent many hours studying science related subjects.

That means that, in my head, I’ve been a scientist for 16 years.

      Jess.
