        Hi again, Owen:-)

Let me Google that for you 😉 : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crust_%28geology%29

Mostly silicon oxide and aluminium oxide. Lighter elements bound to oxygen.

        Hi Owen!

the world crust is made of a mixture of minerals, metals and other elements.
As Chris said, the main components are silicates, minerals formed by silicon and oxygen mixed with various metals. Going from the surface of the earth to deeper and deeper layers of the crust down to the nucleus, the composition is constantly changing because of the pressure and temperature conditions the components have to withstand.

        Jess.

You might be surprised to know it is the thinnest layer of the earth by a long way. On average it’s about the thickness of a postage stamp stuck on a football.
